Account Manager / Senior Account Manager - Digital

PR Skills:

  • Develops, with Account Director/Director, strategic and tactical client programmes

  • Demonstrates an ability to apply PR techniques beyond media relations in response to client briefs e.g. familiar with web and viral PR techniques

  • Demonstrates ability to write persuasively, create dynamic presentations and develop/pitch stories effectively

  • Leads journalist relationship-building initiatives within the team across various media sectors

  • Identifies and builds relationships at multiple levels within client companies

  • Builds and maintains key relationships with UK media/opinion leaders and other relevant third parties

  • Monitors and investigates ''market intelligence''; applies to client programmes as appropriate in conjunction with Account Director/Director

  • Builds high-level knowledge of client''s market sector

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to express ideas and articulate concepts, recommendations, etc. in client or team meetings

Client Services:

  • Day-to-day point of contact for client

  • Participates in client meetings

  • Plans and participates in client review meetings with team; ensures deadlines are met and client is continually informed of status of ongoing projects

  • Demonstrates event management capability

  • Develops a consulting/advisory capability with client wherever possible and positions the company as a strategic partner/consultancy

  • Provides consistent quality service to clients, taking pride in outputs; quality control of own and team''s work

Account Management:

  • Works with Account Director/Director to finalise programme and budgets for client

  • Assumes accountability for financial aspects of cost management on client programmes; aware of financial status of accounts at all times

  • Maintains an in-depth interest/knowledge of current affairs; looks for links/opportunities to position company to client as appropriate

  • Looks for ways to increase client satisfaction

Business Development:

  • Seeks and develops opportunities for organic growth of existing business

  • Demonstrates strong proposal writing and pitch preparation skills in conjunction with Account Director/Director

  • Demonstrates advanced presentation and influencing skills

  • Holds in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape

  • Builds high-level analytical and research skills

  • Maintains and develops contacts, follows up on networking opportunities

  • Recognises new business opportunities and works with management to action

People Management:

  • Becomes a role model for junior staff

  • Supports team development and project planning

  • Conducts appraisals for AAE/AE staff

  • Contributes to and participates in personal development activities for junior staff (i.e. via coaching, workshop development etc.)

  • Actively looks to maintain and build positive working relationships

  • Appropriate delegation to team members/freelancers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience of working on healthcare PR accounts either in an agency or pharmaceutical environments.

  • Experience / interest in digital marketing

  • Effectively manages own time and that of junior staff

  • Demonstrates good team management skills

  • Supports company culture; actively seeks new, smarter ways of doing things

  • Competent computer software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

  • Demonstrates a self-starter approach

  • Demonstrates innovation and creativity

  • Excellent attention to detail
