Financial Accountant - Compliance - Prague

In this current economic client, this medical device company are undergoing rapid expansion globally, promising an exciting career path as well as jobs security. Working within its newest establishment, you will have responsibility within Financial Accounting Systems and have a chance to make changes and make your mark.This is a department you can have influence using your strong Accounting experience within the big four consultancies. This coupled with living in a highly cultural city rich in history and promoting a high standard of living due to low costs will certainly have its appeal.

As a Financial Accountant working within the life sciences sector, you will be responsible for ensuring Financial compliance within the EMEA region

This will involve reviewing of financial statements and overseeing all technical accounting transactions

This is will be a role with cross functional exposure where you will be able to work with various departments as well as work with external auditors

Given that this is a EMEA role, you will work with local offices as well as the global HQ

You will work with US GAAP ensuring compliance and have a significant role to play with regards to Financial leadership and expertise

There is a need to work with the Balance Sheet and specific key accounts reviews for all countries in the regions to ensure accuracy in reconciliations and reporting, in accordance with US GAAP

Lead the project for updating all Regional Financial Policies and Procedures

Regularly review and monitor all local finance policies and accounting practices throughout the regions (EMEA)

* Advanced financial/accounting education; Degree or emphasis in Accounting preferred
* Certification: ACCA Chartered Accountant, CPA or equivalent
* Manager-level experience at a top tier public accounting firm ("Big Four") or a combination of four years of public accounting experience and recent accounting leadership experience in private industry.; US GAAP experience required
* Experience with complex accounting transactions and international entity exposure preferred
* Training and/or experience with IFRS a plus
* Hyperion consolidation systems and/or JD Edwards Enterprise One experience a plus
* Microsoft-based operating systems, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
