Background:
My Client is a privately owned medical education agency with a presence in Asia, Europe and America. They offer a range of services from consultancy through to clinical trial management, regulatory approval and communications, to help pharmaceutical companies achieve their commercial objectives across worldwide markets. They are now looking to recruit a Medical Writer because of an increased workload.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Senior Medical Writer, as a Medical Writer you will be responsible for researching and developing high quality written material for a variety of different client projects. More specifically
• Scientifically accurate medical writing that is clear, fully referenced and appropriate to the target audience and meets the client’s objectives
• Working on a broad range of projects, including publications, abstracts, posters, patient materials, symposia, meeting reports, newsletters and so on
• Lead writer for nominated accounts
• Researching medical and scientific topics and developing knowledge in relevant therapy areas including drug mechanisms, disease state, treatment guidelines and competitive landscape
• Reviewing other writers’ work for scientific accuracy
• Providing support on project management and attending meetings as required
• Identifying any problems that could jeopardise the delivery of your projects on time.
• Acting as the primary client contact on allocated accounts and develop relationships with clients
• Provide content support on new business opportunities and be aware of opportunities to develop and grow business

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT:
•Life science degree with higher postgraduate degree preferred
•Previous experience as a Medical Writer in a medical communications agency or similar role in a pharmaceutical company required
•Passion for medical writing and strong attention to detail
•Knowledge of diseases and treatments
•Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
