As a Design Engineer you''ll contribute creatively to the design of drug delivery devices. The role involves producing concepts and reviewing overall designs with a view to identifying area''s critical to function, and likely failure modes and design sensitivities. The job involves working within multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers and scientists.
The person we are looking for is a Creative Engineering Designer with medical device design experience preferable, and who is above all highly proficient in ProENGINEER modelling, assemblies and detail drawings. An understanding of plastic moulding part and tool design is a bonus. Typically, they will have a Degree in mechanical engineering or relevant subject.
Detailed duties include:
. Creating and evaluating product designs at a conceptual level and through to the creation of detailed manufacturing CAD drawings.
. Produce demonstrably viable design solutions in response to specific requirements or specifications
. Review overall designs, identifying areas of uncertainty or technical risk that require further investigation.
. Carrying out laboratory-based work to evaluate early-stage concepts and to quantify design proposals to establish their design parameters.
. Using analytical and experimental tools to quantify the critical design parameters, functional performance characteristics, controlling parameters of the system, etc.
. Liaising with third parties such as specialist manufacturers, or tool-makers as needs demand.
