Background:
My client is an intelligent and innovative healthcare communications agency based in the North West. Their goal is to create an environment where energy and ideas combine with the very best in scientific and marketing communications expertise to build global brands in partnership with their clients. They are currently looking for an experienced Scientific Director, Principal Writer or equivalent with proficiency in working across a broad range of medical education initiatives (publications and commercial).

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Ability to offer high level, scientific input to support the presentation, development and delivery of strategic communications and publications plans;
Ability to confidently and authoritatively present strategic ideas and insight to clients and to guide on product differentiation and positioning;
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with client teams, KTLs and colleagues;
Excellent writing skills and meticulous attention to detail;
Experience of reviewing other writers'' work and supporting, coaching and mentoring junior team member(s) and/or freelancers;
Demonstrable experience in overseeing and proactively managing projects ensuring high quality delivery to spec, to budget, and on schedule;
Strong multi-tasking skills, ability to oversee several on-going tasks and to work with the team to successfully support and deliver ad-hoc requests;
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, with clients, KTLs and colleagues.
Pro-activity, excellent client and KTL facing skills and an outgoing personality. Regular client and KTL contact is a requisite element of the role and hence the candidate must be comfortable communicating with clients and KTLs face-to-face, over the telephone and by email. The ideal candidate must also be confident in leading and actively participating in TCs, and internal and external meetings.
Identifying and communicating opportunities for new business and organic growth.
Ability to travel within the UK and overseas.
