Background:
Our client, a leading global CRO, provides a comprehensive range of services in Phase I-IV clinical trials to the biopharmaceutical and device industries. They are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer & Java Developer for their two sites in Eire.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Building releases of software applications for testing, regression and deployment
Writing unit tests and automated UATs (User Acceptance Tests) for software modules
Participating in a full Scrum Software Development Cycle
Conducting code reviews and mentor junior software engineers
Compile with company coding standards and best practices to construct software that is easy to maintain and extensible
Develop design specifications and communicate them other team members
Write source code documentation following the company standards
Seeking improvements by introducing new technologies, third part libraries or new programming practices and approaches
Seeking understanding of the business domain for applications under development
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Proven experience as a Java developer
Excellent coding skills in Java 5 / 6, building web-based applications in a J2EE environment.
Experience with Spring Framework & HIbernate
Good knowledge of design patterns: GoF
Advanced SQL knowledge and knowledge of JavaScript, CSS
Experience using testing tools: JUnit, Mockito
