Background:
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic candidates to join a successful independent medical communications company on the Kent/Surrey border. Our client has the knowledge and experience to provide a top-quality, full-service offering typical of a large agency but with the flexible and personal-service approach of a smaller company. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Medical Writer to provide tactical and strategic medical writing support for international pharma clients. This position will suit a candidate with proven medical writing and editorial experience gained in a medical communications agency.
Key responsibilities:

To research, write, edit, and proof a wide range of scientific and educational materials.

To be the primary editorial contact for client projects and small programmes of work.

To travel to support a range of client activities and on-site meetings.

To establish, develop, and maintain key opinion leader relationships.

To work with senior editorial managers to ensure that projects are appropriately resourced,

To contribute to business development activities for existing and new clients as and when required to do so.
Experience required:
-
PhD in life or physical sciences, preferably with post-doctoral research experience.

At least 3 years’ experience as a medical/scientific writer.

A broad range of therapeutic area expertise, and the ability to rapidly assimilate information in new areas.

Ability to adapt writing style to different target audiences and to a wide range of publication media.

Knowledge of Publication Planning, including a good understanding of Good Publication Practice and copyright issues.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a small project team.

Confidence in liaising with clients and authors to meet and exceed expectation.
