Background:
This international healthcare communications agency provides medico-marketing consultancy and medical communications services to leading global pharmaceutical companies in Europe, the USA and East Asia. The continued growth of their business means that they are seeking to appoint a talented and experienced Senior Medical Writer to their team to provide technological expertise and creative excellence in the area of HIV/Aids.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
The Senior Medical Writer provides medical writing, editing and proof-reading services working closely with the account teams predominantly in the field of HIV/Aids. To be the lead writer across a range of medical communication activities including manuscripts, slide decks, websites and advisory boards and provide expertise on publications planning. You will be the main point of contact on scientific content for the client and opinion leaders and this is a highly technical writing focused role. An important component of this job will be to collaborate with colleagues in the USA and East Asia, so a significant amount of travel will be required.

You will be expected to have a broad understanding of the wider medical and marketing issues relating to the product(s) and to understand the role that medical education plays in a client’s business. You will also provide scientific expertise to contribute towards new business pitches. Consequently you will need to keep up to date with the latest research and developments within HIV/Aids and other relevant therapeutic areas.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SOUGHT:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Senior Medical Writer with an agency background and must have a good technical understanding of the clinical management of HIV. At the very least you will have a bioscience degree and ideally a PhD as well as expertise and an interest in the field of HIV/Aids.
