Background:One of the top five international healthcare communications agencies is looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join its team in the London office. In the role of Senior Medical Writer you will be working directly as part of a client service team that works on international accounts with leading global pharmaceutical companies. You will be expected to write to a very high standard and have the ability to coach and mentor more junior medical writers. The role will require a confident individual who will be able to communicate daily with clients and international key opinion leaders.
The type of work in which you will be involved includes publication plans, primary and secondary publications, competitor analyses, slide sets, product monographs, conferences (and all related materials) and participation at strategic workshops.
You must have at least a BSc in a biological science, and preferably a PhD, and ideally 3 years commercial writing experience within a healthcare communications agency, however medical writers with less medical writing experience may be considered. You must have the ability to get to grips with therapy areas outside of your particular expertise quickly, to write clearly and with scientific accuracy, and to brief and have an eye for detail. A good understanding of Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a must and for the right Senior Medical Writer this will be an opportunity to have line management responsibility of more junior medical writers.
