Senior Medical Writer - Medical Communications Agency, London

Business Type: Medical Communications Agency, Medical Education Agency
Job Type: Medical Writing and Editorial
Job Level: Not Specified
Position: Full Time
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience, with excellent benefits
Location: UK - London
Reference: 133
Background:
One of the top five international healthcare communications agencies is looking for a Senior Medical Writer to join its team in the London office. In the role of Senior Medical Writer you will be working directly as part of a client service team that works on international accounts with leading global pharmaceutical companies. You will be expected to write to a very high standard and have the ability to coach and mentor more junior medical writers. The role will require a confident individual who will be able to communicate daily with clients and international key opinion leaders.

The type of work in which you will be involved includes publication plans, primary and secondary publications, competitor analyses, slide sets, product monographs, conferences (and all related materials) and participation at strategic workshops.

You must have at least a BSc in a biological science, and preferably a PhD, and ideally 3 years commercial writing experience within a healthcare communications agency, however medical writers with less medical writing experience may be considered. You must have the ability to get to grips with therapy areas outside of your particular expertise quickly, to write clearly and with scientific accuracy, and to brief and have an eye for detail. A good understanding of Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a must and for the right Senior Medical Writer this will be an opportunity to have line management responsibility of more junior medical writers.

This is an opportunity with one of the world’s largest communications groups. The pace is fast at this dynamic agency and in addition to a competitive salary you will also be given a 5% non-contributory pension, health and life assurance, 23 days holiday (increasing to 28 days with increased duration of service ), season travel ticket loan and additional fringe benefits.
