Background:
Our client is an innovative, efficient and firmly solution oriented, global pharmaceutical company. They are seeking a Statistical Programmer for a 6 month contract at their offices based in the South East England.
JOB ROLE: The Statistical Programmer supports the Biostatistics team by carrying out basic statistical programming work and providing statistical programming and validation support for both internal and external EGC projects with particular emphasis on oncology therapy area. The Statistical Programmer operates as an effective team member, demonstrating the ability to work efficiently and to a high standard within a clinical team environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Providing statistical programming and validation support for analysis datasets, statistical tables, figures, listings, patient profiles, SAS transport files, related clinical trials and for other internal and external requests
Accessing and converting data to SAS from ClinTrial Database management system and PC file formats
Working with external vendors in order to develop or monitor the content and structure of SAS datasets when necessary
Providing input in developing SOPs, SWPs, the Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) and other related technical documents
Providing input to the Database and CRF Development, creating edit check programs and providing feedback to Data Management
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in associated functional discipline
Masters degree preferred
Experience using SAS-Base, MACRO, STAT, GRAPH, ACCESS, MS Office
Experience with Unix or Windows operating systems
Understanding of the software development life cycle is desirable
Experience within therapy area of oncology
