Key Requirements for the Cell Culture Scientist

  • Completed professional education (bachelors, masters) in related field
  • Working level fluency in French and English
  • +5 years working in R&D for medical devices/diagnostics/pharma
  • Solid background in cell culture
  • Ideally good understanding of immunoassays


  • Undertake the manufacture activities linked to the monoclonal antibodies (~50% of the time)
  • Undertake mAbs in vitro production (freeze and thaw cycles, cell growth, viability testing and cells stability determination, immuno-reactivity testing of supernatant and storage until purification) following the procedures and quality rules ( ISO13485, 9001 or FDA rules).
  • Organise the activities following the priorities delivered by the responsible.
  • Participate to manage the stocks: raw material stock, cell cryostock and supernatants stock.
  • Prepare, use and maintain the equipment and the lab.
  • Participate to the documentation redaction: Protocol, SOP, Event deviation
  • Undertake the development, the characterization, the maintenance, the improvement, and the investigation activities directly or indirectly related to cell lines and antibodies/proteins production:
  • Undertake the development of new mAbs (mice immunization, spleen collection, fusion testing, cloning and cell freezing)
  • Ensure the quality, the viability and the productivity of cells; developing new methods, protocols and processes to improve above-mentioned activities
  • Contribute to the improvement of mAbs production yield
  • Participate to the scheduling of mAbs production based on priorities
  • Participate to the communication with R&D to schedule immunization and screening tests
  • Undertake the creation of documentation and ensure full compliance with current FDA, Quality, Health & Safety and environmental legislation
  • Participate to the inventory of raw materials
  • Participate to the creation and the update of KPI
  • Participate to the control of liquid nitrogen and CO2 stocks
  • Participate to the certification demand for the set up of an animal facility
  • Undertake the QC methods development dedicated to the validation of intermediate and final products
  • Provide quality and on time supply with no adverse impact on customer services
  • Provide troubleshooting services at anytime related to Cell Culture activities
  • Prepare, use and maintain all the systems directly or indirectly related to cell culture
  • Ensuring that workspace is clean and organized
