Clinical Research Physician

Job Details:

Role purpose:

  • Function as Sub Investigator/PI, ensuring ICH/ GCP and local regulations are met.
  • Medical screening of healthy volunteers and patients for joining the panel or for participating in clinical trials at the Clinical Unit
  • Provide medical and scientific leadership including delivery of robust scientific rationale and technical skills of study conduct in experimental medicine and innovative compound- specific clinical trials.

Role responsibilities:

  • Works within the scope of ICH GCP, ensuring accuracy of documentation of all study related procedures during the clinical trial process.
  • Works according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provides medical support of screening/recruitment of healthy volunteers and patients to panel and studies.
  • Accurately documents procedures followed in recruitment of volunteer patients.
  • Manages open channels of communication with study sponsors list, PI, and sub-investigators, and all other study and recruitment personnel.
  • Liaises with the Investigator and all other study/recruitment personnel.
  • Conducts screening for study in compliance with GCP, related SOP''''''''s and study protocol.
  • Carries out clinical evaluation and clinical investigation of participants according to GCP and relevant study protocols.
  • Reports any deviation from SOP, protocol or GCP to Investigator.
  • Works to a high degree of accuracy, precision and detail.
  • Constantly seeks and suggests quality improvement activities.
  • Provide medical cover for screening for studies in the CUC as required by the unit schedule.
  • Takes responsibility for ensuring SAEs and AEs are reported appropriately.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of changes to SOP’s as they occur and responds accordingly.

Skills/Experience

  • Medical qualification allowing direct medical responsibility for human investigations in the UK.
  • Registered with General Medical Council with current license to practice.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post registration experience.
  • Experience in Medical specialty or General Practice.
  • Required ALS (Training will be provided).
  • Interest in clinical research or pharmacology/drug development.
