Job Details:
Are you a self-motivated, experienced Field Service Engineer with knowledge of installation, commissioning and calibaration of monitoring systems? A brand new vacancy has arisen with a leading provider of temperature monitors that are used in the Pharmaceutical industry. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary (up to £28k plus overtime, plus a company car / van and discretionary bonus) and excellent training opportunities for someone with a mechanical or electrical background and strong people skills.

We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and flexible individual with a technical mindset and excellent communication skills as you will be visiting client sites in the UK (and occasionally internationally) and interacting with customers on a daily basis. The company is situated in West Sussex and you can be based remotely. Some of your initial training will be in Switzerland and some in West Sussex, and you will be given close support from the West Sussex office.

The Role

Your role will include supporting and implementing of monitoring projects, supporting customers with technical enquiries, closing out service assignments and concluding projects. You will be required to carry out factory calibrations and ISO 17025 calibrations alongside maintaining equipment correctly. You must be able to carry out installations of hardware and software of monitoring systems and software updates. You will also be involved in the execution of GxP, IQ (Installation Qualification) and OQ (Operation Qualification) documentation and mapping installations.

This is a permanent role and will include working occasional weekends. You will receive well-structured training on the company’s products which will include to travel outside of the UK, enabling you to progress within the business. You will able to enjoy use of company pool vehicle for work and private purposes, or can have the choice of using your own car.

Your standard hours will be 9-5.30, Monday to Friday. Time worked outside of these hours will be paid as overtime (1 x time during the week and 1.5 x time at weekends). The company also pays discretionary bonuses, which are not guaranteed.

The monitoring process consists of measuring, recording and managing data. Then, based on the stability criteria, the data is assessed for release or alarm. The company’s solutions result in the lowest total cost of ownership for their customers while ensuring compliance and maximum efficiency. The main industries they serve are in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors as well as the environmental management, biobanking & life sciences and the food industries. They provide industries with solutions for laboratory, production, storage and transportation through to the end user. Their ultimate goal is to constantly improve the market and customer orientation. They adhere to ISO9000/17025 guidelines and GMP/GLP requirements for the pharmaceutical industry as well as UKAS accreditation.

Experience

You will ideally have an ONC in an electrical and mechanical discipline or fundamental training as an Electrician. You will have to have a technical mindset and excellent communication skills to consult with customers. In addition, experience of working in a calibration or validation role in the pharmaceutical industry, R&D and production/manufacturing environment (e.g. ISO17025, ISO9001, GMP etc) is advantageous (but not essential). You must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel to customer sites. Above all else, we are looking for a hard-working, reliable and flexible individual who not only has strong technical skills but also an excellent client-facing manner
