On behalf of one of largest biopharmaceutical CdMO I am currently looking for a Head of Manufacturing, Microbial Small Scale for microbial products, to be based in their largest production site in Switzerland.

As a member of the Microbial Operations Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects representing the Microbial facility, managing the interfaces between Manufacturing, MSAT, Plant Engineering, Support, QA and QC and leading multidisciplinary teams of senior production leaders, managers, supervisors and operators to drive continuously efficiency and innovation.

Role''s Responsibilities:

  • Lead the company''s Microbial manufacturing Small Scale units, ensuring timely delivery of GMP manufactured batches in a safe environment, meeting the required quantity, quality and timing (on time in full) in order to deliver value to the customers and to the company.
  • Ensure effective use of resources (people, assets) across units.
  • Responsible to the financial performance of Microbial units objectives by controlling the manufacturing and operating costs, managing headcount and OPEX budgets.
  • Coaching and development of Microbial Team, ensuring both alignment and growth as a high-performing team and individuals, delivering successfully as a business and as professionals. Maintain a culture of empowerment and innovation, trust, high performance and change readiness.
  • Act as operational Leader in Capital investment project for building and commissioning of the manufacturing unit.

Requirements:

  • Master or PhD degree in Biotechnology or other relevant areas
  • Extensive experience in a leading a large Biopharma / Microbial manufacturing organisation, minimum 10 years in leadership role
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing of small/large molecules, recognised expert in the area of GMP, safe work environment leadership, delivery of RFT, and leadership and development of leadership teams delivering progressive continuous improvement in a multi-layered organisation
