Online Events Manager
The Online Events Manager at imc North America will be a champion of all thing online and virtual, and strives to produce the best possible events for our clients, with outstanding user experience for attendees. You will be specifically responsible for the technical component of all online events, and will be a detail orientated, true technical manager with the ability to develop trust, convey confidence and not drop the ball. The individual will have a superb grasp and expertise in executing online events, alongside technical project management.
Main Responsibilities
- Working as an integral member of the internal project team (Client Services, Creative and Digital, Scientific Services), along with clients to establish ongoing project requirements, provide recommendations and ensure smooth project delivery
- Understanding key client expectations; forging close relationship with client and external stakeholders, managing expectations
· Provide expert knowledge and training to other staff members and external stakeholders on various online platforms and best practices
· Leading technical rehearsals and supporting the development of materials such as Best Practices, FAQs, and training slides to assist meeting hosts, speakers, and support staff (online team)
· Support internal and external stakeholders in identifying and recommending appropriate platforms and formats best suited for the content
- Managing delegate registrations and trackers
- Collaboration with internal meeting compliance team to ensure all projects are compliant with relevant regulations
- Attendee management and support prior to meeting, during the meeting and afterwards for any required touchpoints.
- Providing metrics for the creation of post-event analytics reports,
- Owning the subject matter expertise within the organization by staying abreast of all platforms, innovations in the online event space and continually advancing your own and the company’s knowledge base and understanding of online events, digital and overall IT
- Managing the platform vendor relationship, subscriptions, training, sourcing and leading any tailored/bespoke opportunities
What you need for this role
· Minimum of 4 years’ experience in online event delivery
· Expert understanding of technical options for remote broadcasting, and using various online platforms; (Zoom, Teams, Cisco etc.)
· Experience using platforms such as MailChimp, SurveyMonkey and Eventbrite for managing event communication, registrations etc.
· Strong overall IT skills, with the ability to set up and test systems, and assist with troubleshooting
· Comfortable being in front of the camera (client calls, studio set-up and testing etc.)
· A passion for events and comfort working under tight deadlines
· Extraordinary self-starter, strong initiative, and attention to detail
· Highly collaborative with a demonstrated ability to manage projects and timelines
· Exceptional interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills
- Calm and professional demeanour that instils confidence while online with clients
- Excellent written and oral communication with exceptional attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Flexibility to work weekends/ outside office hours when events dictate
- Bilingual (English and French) desirable
- Office is in Toronto, but this role will be remote initially
