Job Details:
I am looking for an experienced Principal Chemist to join this exciting company and contribute straight away.
Our client is an immuno-metabolism company focused on innovative science relating to the manipulation of cellular metabolism and metabolic reprogramming
The successful candidate will be working with members of the Chemistry Department external CROs
driving medicinal chemistry projects as well as coordinating with synthetic chemistry.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Manage remote teams of medicinal and synthetic chemists at CROs efficiently.
* Integrate project biology, DMPK, safety, and toxicology data to enable successful hit-to-lead
and lead optimisation campaigns through outstanding molecular design.
* Draft patent applications through external collaborations
* Work collaboratively within the Company''s project teams, with colleagues in biology and with
external collaborators
* Interpret and summarise complex data for presentation
* Keep up to date with state-of-the-art technologies and knowledge of developments in medicinal
chemistry and immuno-metabolism.
Essential Requirements:
* 10 years+ experience in industrial drug discovery
* Inventorship on patent applications exemplifying biologically-important molecules
* Background managing remote teams of chemists at CROs
* Exceptional knowledge of synthetic and medicinal chemistries supplemented by a solid understanding of biological signaling pathways, structure-based drug design and ADME optimisation in drug discovery
* Experienced in all stages of the interdisciplinary drug discovery process
*Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences
* Background in oncology and/or immunology is highly desired
