together with a start-up company based in Greater Boston we are now seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to join the Protein Science group. The company are developing advanced novel therapies for Cancer treatments, utilising T and NK cells as well as pursuing other directions.
In the Protein Science group, you will be an integral part of advancing the lead antibody program toward the Clinical phases, and take an active part in the early-stage discovery program. The company is developing targeted therapeutics for patients with challenging, complex cancers. They employ a single cell sequencing platform to dissect the biology of immune cells in human tumours and identify novel, exciting oncology targets. We are currently advancing multiple programs toward early human studies.
Responsibilities include:
- Expression and purification of antibodies and other proteins for use in biology and biochemical/biophysical studies
- Robustly characterize and QC protein and antibody products using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, and other techniques
- Help with management of inventories, working cell stocks and protein production workflow and supplies
- Maintain records, prepare reports, make presentations to update multi-functional project teams and leadership
- Contribute to group goals through collaboration, shared expertise, and exchange of ideas
About you:
- B.S. M.S. with 4-6 years of industry experience
- Experience with mammalian (CHO or HEK) protein purification systems is required
- Experience Purification systems such as HPLC, AKTA, Chromotography (Affinity/SEC/IEX)
- Experience with characterization of antibodies and proteins using biophysical and biochemical techniques (SDS-PAGE/Western blot, HPLC, Octet, DLS, etc.)
- Molecular biology skills such as cloning, PCR, Gibson assembly, DNA purification
- Ability to work independently, design, execute, interpret and troubleshoot experiments
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to independently execute against goals
